Slacker, I am...

Hey!
Mom- my feet don't reach the floor!

This is Bridger hanging out while we work on our "new" house.

Happy boy

woah- what are you doing, Mom?

I can just hear him now- Mooo-oommm!!! (sarcastic teen-age sounding)
Well. Derek and I have been working on the house we're moving to in February- it was painted pink EVERYWHERE, and we both really hate pink, so we're painting everything, and giving the house a basic facelift. It's also filthy, so I've been cleaning like crazy. It'll be great when it's done, and we've made great progress so far.
I found out on Friday that my dog has cancer, and that it's very advanced. He's on some good drugs right now, but we're not going to have him around for much longer. I've had Bridger for about 8 years, and he's been through SO much with me. I'm going to miss him like crazy... I really wanted him to be Jackson's dog... I've never been without a dog, so it will be very strange for a while. Right now we're treating him like a king- couch time and all- and making the most of our time with him.
Jackson is almost 3 months old! He's growing like a weed, and doing really well. He loves to stand up and holds his head up very well. He's been in his crib for almost a month, and definitely sleeps better there than I'd hoped! Last night he thought it would be fun to have crib talk around 3, so I had to go in and tell him that we don't yell at the mobile until 7 :). He cracks us up- really vocal and interactive, and that smile lights up a room and breaks our hearts in the best possible way! He brings tears to my eyes sometimes...
We're getting snow again right now... What- do we live in Maine or something?

  1. Laura Great pictures and text. I am so sorry about the dog. I know that is where it really hurts. But I have a solution. The only real dog for a baby is a yellow lab. They serve as pony ,protector and long lasting friend. And a good yellow lab also likes to hunt, walk and learn. They are not as smart as a shelty or boarder, but they like kids better. Dorian has a rescued greyhound and he is fine with Alex, protects and tolerates, but he seems to fragile to enjoy the attention. Adrienne has a big fat short hair well known for smarts and loyalty and he is very gentle. I think he is a Weimaraner. Very high energy. Now a yellow lab also fits Maine. They like it in or out. They are a pup for along time, but easy to train. And they are called "Ol Yalla" by most every one It is not fitting for a man to think about his next wife as his wife dies. However, it is a very good idea to think about your next dog as the old one is ill. Alex Medina (Adrienne's son) had a German Shepherd named Buck with whom he grew up. Buck lived to be very old, but when he died Alex got his picture tattooed on hid calf. He now has a little runt of a dachshund. I am so glad you found time to update the blog. I really enjoy watching JAckson grow and each time he smiles bigger. A pink house sounds a like a personality test for someone who needs lots of help. I am doing shades of brown and love it.
