Some Jackson

Jackson just watched this with me and was fascinated with that little boy who speaks the same language!!

Dear Folks,
It is now day 672 of snow. We have not seen the sun for 5 years. We have put a straw up the chimney for fresh air, as the snow now is over the roof. We are trying to maintain tunnels to the woodshed and plow, but are rapidly giving up hope. Jackson refuses to take off his boots, as he knows there may be need of a fast escape. Will keep you posted, but if no word, please send a helicopter and possible avalance rescue team.
Love from Maine

ps Sorry about the dark videos- it was probably snowing, and again, the snow is over the windows so no light comes in.

Daddy's make fantastic jungle gyms!

Hmmm... Wonder how he got up there?! Well, he pushes his four-wheeler over and uses it as a step. Good plan, Jackson- those things aren't very stable!

Hey Ma! Gimme that camera! I'll eat it!

Wow I look tired. Wonder why...

This is Jackson's new girlfriend, Ryleigh. I had the girls over on Saturday night (Derek was gone for the weekend) and while we were gossiping, laughing, and generally having a blast, it snowed a couple inches. Neither of them wanted to drive at night in the snow, so we ended up having a sleepover!

Hugs!!

He climbed up on the wheelie chair and was trying to get in with her! She's a younger woman- only 8 months old, so she's not walking yet... Easy pray for the J man- he liked to sit on her lap as well!

Mama Jade and Ryleigh in the morning (early... those kids were up at 5!).

I've been waiting for this... He's been so close to going in the dog kennel so many times, but now he's actually done it!

Huh. What next?

My favorite!! Love that grin and my Little Boy.

Daddy's boots!

Well. Jackson is getting a lot of other-kid time this week. Yesterday, we braved the icy roads and went to the library in Bath for story time. It's just 20 minutes, but the kids either sit in our laps or can run around and play while the librarian reads and sings some songs. We had a lot of fun, and will definitely go back next week, weather permitting. Jackson met a 16 month old little boy (Jackson will be 15 months on the 22nd) who he was SO excited about. He went over and gave the little boy a hug- SO much love that he knocked the poor kid right over! Then, realizing what he'd done, proceeded to go up to another kid and try to push her over. Sweet. He wasn't being mean, just experimenting. Right, Laura. Just experimenting. Ahem.
His latest hijinks include climbing on EVERYTHING and walking around with a pair of shoes or boots on his hands/arms. He's always loved shoes, either chewing on them or just moving them around (always in pairs). He just came over to me with his boots for me to put them on his arms. If nothing else, it's NEVER boring around here!

birthdays (mine) and Christmas

Sweet. Get this OFF me, Mom!

Kitty under the tree...

Mama there's a Kitty in there!

I. Am. Ready.

Off they go!

The wind blew so hard the snow stuck to the side of the house- it was a very intense storm!

He always has his eyes shut... My camera is getting slooow as it gets older.

Standing on Daddy's sneaker

This is my sled! It's red.

We stopped sledding after I dumped him out. Twice. Oops.

What a dude...

Birthday champagne in our wedding glasses! I had water in mine at the wedding, so it was fun to use them!

Christmas!

I don't wanna open presents- I wanna play with my blocks! Oh well. I got to open a LOT of presents...

Who needs presents anyway? This is MUCH more interesting. He'd empty the fridge and replace everything for hours if I'd let him! And I would let him, but it'd be a little expensive...

Loooves the sled. I find him sitting in it all the time!

Or on a box.

Nice socks, kid...

SOOO cute!

His face gets all squished up with his hat and his coat on. He looks a little silly!

Derek and I dropped Jackson off at his parent's house this morning and went ice fishing- this is a 15" brook trout that Derek caught. I caught nothing, per usual.

These pictures are from his birthday, Darlene just emailed them to me, and I thought I'd include them- there are so few with me in them!

At GG's (great Grammy Rice/Derek's grandmother's) for Christmas Eve...

The Perkins men and me!

Grilled cheese smile!

I cannot believe that 2010 is over. How did that happen so quickly? Jackson is now experiencing his second set of holidays, I'm 30, he's 1... Time is just flying!

A lot has happened this year that wasn't so happy as well. I lost two very special doggy family members (Bridger and Moe), along with several acquaintances. We are truly blessed to have all of our family healthy and happy (all is relative- I'm counting you as healthy if you're able to walk and talk!).

I hope you all had a safe and happy year, and that this one is even batter than the last!

Love to you all!
