Derek wanted to fish, so Jackson and I went along for the trip- he ate a LOT of sand, but seems to have pulled through just fine!
Grammy Cindy just didn't want to put him down! This was his first parade, Memorial Day in Bath.
Getting ready to do some fishing in Rangeley during our anniversary trip.
Such a nice view- the cabin was about twenty feet from Rangeley Lake.
I was taking a picture of Derek and wondering why he was waving his arms around like a lunatic- there were two Loons that surfaced about ten feet from the dock I was sitting on!
View across the lake
Now THIS is my kind of a vacation!
Then there was this little guy- he was all by himself, busily eating all the water bugs he could get to!
The first night! There was only one bedroom, so when Jackson woke up in the morning and popped his head up, he could see us! He was flabbergasted and thrilled to have Mom and Dad RIGHT THERE!!! HEY GUYS LETS PLAY!!! It was pretty cute!
It was so pretty at night- here's Derek flyfishing from our canoe.
No, I didn't drink all vacation...
Looking out over Rangeley Lake, toward the cabin we stayed at.
Where's Jackson?!
There he is!
Second night- he slept on his side.
Third night- he slept on his stomach- totally freaks me out, but he's so strong that I really don't think I need to worry.
We brought the top of our wedding cake up with us, and after a whole year of waiting, still forgot to eat it on our actual anniversary- we had it for breakfast the next morning though! And, Jackson had his first egg!
It was good...
Height Of Land- beautiful views! The weather was great for our trip up and home... while we were there? Not so much. We'd anticipated this happening though- I mean come on! It was a vacation- of COURSE it would rain!! We still had a blast, and were very glad we weren't camping!
This doe ran along the side of the road for a couple hundred yards- it was hilarious! She was in no hurry to get away from us, and it's no wonder so many deer get hit!
Coos Canyon on the ride home- Jackson was asleep so it was a quick run out to take pictures.
Ahhh... Home at last- Jackson REALLY likes to destroy magazines and newspapers- I've designated him my official fire-starter helper for next winter!
We had a great trip, and really loved where we stayed. We're actually thinking about going there again next summer! It was also really nice to come home- Jackson was thrilled to be back and busily went around in his walker checking to make sure that all his toys were as he left them- it was hilarious!
Hmmm- I hear a small noise coming from upstairs... I wonder what it could be?!
